What is Sun Hang Do?
Sun Hang Do’s techniques are a combination of both HARD and SOFT movements. All patterns, weapons and self defense are practiced with a focus on these two opposites, working together in harmony.
Sun Hang Do teaches a positive "I can do it!" mental attitude. Students will increase energy and develop better mental control. This will improve relaxation and develop leadership skills to help focus on the tasks of today’s busy lifestyle.
Sun Hang Do training improves physical well-being through proper exercise, with a focus on breathing and food control. By following our proper stretching curriculum, students will be able to rehabilitate their physical problems.
Sun Hang Do’s purpose is to allow the mind & body to become one with each other. When a person can achieve this harmony, they will lead a healthy and successful life!

Physical Education Tax Credits
New as of 2007, the Canadian government is proposing to allow parents to claim up to $500 in tax credits per year for membership fees paid for each child who are under 16 participating in a physical activity. Be sure you request your tax receipts from your Instructor or front desk staff when paying your monthly fees. This tax credit is not retroactive and is only valid for fees paid after Jan 1, 2007.
A great way to use this tax credit is to upgrade to the Black Belt Club or Master Club, and receive even more benefit from your training!

2009 Black Belt & Color Belt Tournament
Sun Hang Do's Annual May Black Belt & Color Belt Tournament took place on May 30, 2009 in Coquitlam. More than 150 competitors challenged themselves by competing in up to 5 Divsions including Patterns, Weapons, Sparring, Yeh Dol Sool Sparring, and Stand Up Grappling. The Grand Champion of this years tournament was Mark Murdoch, who achieved this coveted title for the 2nd time. The Black Belt Demo Team put on an impressive demonstration, as did the Instructor Drumming Team. One of the many highlights was the Graduation of the 4th Instructor Club Class, as they reached another goal in becoming future Sun Hang Do Instructors. A big congratulations for all the new Black Belts and Certified Black Belts who were also recognized during the Main Event celebration. Watch the video below to see highlights from the tournament.
