“THE EVENT”

“THE EVENT” took place on June 30th, 2012 at the Chandos Pattison Auditorium in Surrey, BC. This was Sun Hang Do’s first ever theatrical martial art performance. The Event told the story of 2 brothers seperated as children and each going there different paths, one for good the other for evil. The story full of special effects and video sequences engaged the over 1,000 spectators who viewed the performance. “The Event” performance helped support the CHILDREN’S WISH FOUNDATION by raising over $11.800 to this awesome children’s charity!

Sun Hang Do raises over $11,000 for the Children’s Wish Foundation from the EVENT!

SPRING TOURNAMENT

Sun Hang Do’s Annual Spring Tournament takes place every May. Competitors compete in patterns, weapons, sparring and grappling as they strive to sharpen their competitive spirit. Witness students at their finest and enjoy the Main Event Demonstrations which are always a highlight of this event.

SUN HANG DO DAY

Sun Hang Do celebrates its Birthday on the first Saturday in July with a big community party. A School Demo Team Challenge and a martial art sports day are some of the exciting activities which make the day so special! Hundreds of friends, family and member gather every year to participate in the fun and festivities.

SUN HANG DO LEADERSHIP CAMP

Leadership Camp is a special weekend training camp for Black Belts and school leaders to help develop and hone their leadership skills.

SUN HANG DO IN THE COMMUNITY

Through the combined allegiance of our 9 locations, the Sun Hang Do Organization loves to give back by volunteering in the community. Performing at local festivals and events as well as teaching at elementary schools are just some of the ways Sun Hang Do helps contribute to local growth and development of their local community.

JANUARY 29th , SUNDAY—CHINESE NEW YEARS CHINATOWN PARADE!
Sun Hang Do put on an awesome performance at the Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown in Vancouver. Black Belts and color belts from the various dojangs put on a crowd pleasing performance for the crowd that lined the parade route (estimated at around 50,000) See our video as televised on Shaw TV. The parade was followed by an exciting 20 minute demonstration at Dr. Sun Yat Sen Courtyard in the heart of Chinatown. Happy Chinese New Year!

Sun Hang Do helped ring in the Year of the Snake in the Chinese New Years Spring Festival in Chinatown, Vancouver on February 17th, 2013.
